I'm a big fan of NYC New York Color products {I've got reviews here and here} for a couple of reasons: they're easily accessible, inexpensive, and fun! I'm taking another look at the brand as of late because I think that they are a perfect introductory brand for my oldest daughter, who is just itching to begin her foray into cosmetics {not to mention that the price point is great for her to be able to experiment without breaking the bank}. I particularly enjoy their cute lip products and so I welcomed the opportunity to review the new Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms.

So... I'm obsessed with lip balm {I may have to show y'all my stash some day just so you can understand the magnitude of said obsession}, so I don't really turn down opportunities to review new lip balms. I was even more excited to try this one, it's from the relatively new line, Own Skincare. I mean how could I pass on a lip product created by skin care innovators {the line features an interesting ingredient-it is the only brand in the US that has a patent to use Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA), a clinically-tested natural compound derived from the safflower plant, that has been proven to help skin retain moisture, activate cell renewal and repair collagen structure}. So baby soft lips, here I come!

Add it to the list of products I'm obsessed with (and thus, sort of excessively hoard)- I love lip balms. Literally have a drawer full of them. I feel like I'm always on the hunt for the holy grail balm, and while a few have come close (Nivea's Mint and Minerals and eos Spheres come to mind), I have yet to find one that takes the cake.

Among many other things, I'm kind of obsessed with lip balms. And who can blame me; dry, chapped, flakey lips are not cute, and I teach my babies that at a young age! The downside to that is even the baby is sort of addicted to lip balm. If any of my girls see me whip out a tube, they all line up and pout their lips to get some too! Even my hubby has a healthy obsession with balm (and trust me, it's a great thing ladies-life is much more fun when your man pays attention to even those little things!). The downside to this household preoccupation with soft puckers, is that we run through tubes quite frequently. Also, particularly with the lil bits showing interest in them, I have to pay special attention to the ingredients list (because let's face it-Lo is putting it on just to lick it off and if Kenzie gets her hand on a tube, she's know to take big honking bites out of it). So considering that my kids are basically eating and digesting lip balm, what I use on them has to be worthy of their diets.
