Payday treats are something to look forward to and mark the end of the month; it’s a chance to press the reset button in your life. Family treats on payday are also a great way to connect with your family again, especially as modern kids spend so much of their time in their own worlds.  

 

Take Out 

When it comes to payday treats, one of the first things that comes to mind is take-out food. Take-out food is as pricey as it is delicious, so it’s no surprise it becomes a family treat at the end of the month. There are plenty of options to choose from, so you never get bored of it. 

Pizza is a great way to have some fun with the family at the end of the month. Pizza is delicious and highly sharable, so you can enjoy it together before settling down for a movie or game. If you want something different, like Chinese, why not put it to a vote and create some variety?    

Movie Night 

These days, your family members all have their devices and computers to occupy them. Chances are they spend most of their time in the house zoned out or tuned into their music, videos, or games. Still, there is space in your lives for a movie night to bring people together. 

A movie night is a chance for you to get together with your family and watch something you haven’t seen before - there are plenty of excellent apocalypse movies available on streaming services. If a family member doesn’t like these movies, let them choose one the next month. 

Fun Trips 

A payday treat should be something that is less accessible during the month, usually because of its cost. This can mean take-out food, but it could also be a local activity like karting, water sports, or an adventure park. Have some fun in these places and build excitement for next time. 

If your kids love karting and driving games on the computer, the end of the month is a chance for them to try it out for real. It’s also a chance to get them out of the house and involved in some tactile activities. The same is true of water sports and local parks; it’s a chance to learn. 

New Games 

Do your kids spend a lot of their free time playing computer games? Chances are they download the games, stream them, or buy the cartridges; it mostly depends on the type of console they have. The end of the month is a chance to indulge their favorite interests. 

Why not offer them the chance to buy a new game at the end of the month or give them some money to invest in an online game? There is a danger end of the month's money could become an expectation for them, so make sure to offer them an idea or an experience instead of money.    

Extra Savings

If you decide to give them money instead of a gift or experience, you could choose to save it for them. If they ask for money instead of a game, some take-out, or a trip, you could agree to this, but only if they save it. In this way, you can teach them about the value of money and saving. 

Teaching your kids about the importance of money from a young age creates the right mindset for their future years. People have a tendency towards instant gratification, so if you can instill a sense of moderation and control in them, they are more likely to take this attitude into later life. 

House Party  

If your kids are like most modern kids, they spend much of their time in the rooms of their devices. These days, kids socialize less, resulting in more introverted personalities and people with fewer interpersonal skills in adult life. Payday is a chance to improve their social skills. 

Why not host a party on payday and invite their friends to come round? Maybe, you could set up a projector in the garden and watch a movie with popcorn, drinks, and snack? Alternatively, they could play their video games in the company of others. Parties are always great in the summer.
