How To Become A More Savvy Shopper (Sponsored)

Are you the type of person who always feels as though they get the thin edge of the wedge when it comes to getting all of the great deals? You’re probably not alone in this. It seems that so many people go out shopping and come back with so many great things, for next to nothing. You may wonder where you are going wrong. How are others getting all of the great deals, and you are getting nothing?

Grabbing a bargain means knowing exactly where and when to shop. Often, by not knowing the best ways to grab an amazing offer, it means that you are missing out. Turning up late to the party means that you may be left with slim pickings when all of the best items have already been sold.

Cyber Monday

When it comes to online shopping, some of the best deals can be found on the first Monday after Thanksgiving. Finding the best Cyber Monday deals will involve being thorough in your searching. Most companies will post their best deals to their home page, and many will send out emails to their mailing lists. If there are companies that you like the products of, why not sign up for updates, or follow their social media so that you can get as much of a head start on the items that they will have in their sales.

Amazon Prime Day

Amazon is always a great place to check out when it comes to bargains. The sheer buying power that the company has means that they frequently loss-lead to get you hooked in and moving around the site, buying more. Amazon Prime Day is a series of flash events where products are available across a 48 hour period at greatly reduced prices. You need to be quick to get the offers that you are interested in.

Amazon also does a set of daily deals for Prime members. These items change each day. With all of Amazon’s offers, their logic is that you will buy another item to make the sale worthwhile. If there is nothing that you need to buy, just take the great offer and head straight to the checkout screen.

Main Street Sales

There are two peak sales that are worth your time when it comes to shopping on main street. January and summer sales. Both of these are designed to allow the retailers to sell through as much of their old season stock as possible so that they can make way for the next big things. In January, it is about shifting all of the Christmas lines. There may be a couple of waves of discounts here. However, it is always risky waiting to see if the products that you are wanting will drop further in price, or sell out straight away. During the summer the focus for retailers is clearing through their stockrooms to give space to all of the Christmas lines that will be coming in.
