5 Ways To Work On Boosting Your Confidence Levels

Feeling confident in your day to day is extremely important, but a lot of people struggle with it, unfortunately. Thankfully, there are easy ways to boost your confidence, but remember - sometimes it just takes time, so if any of these steps do not work immediately, just hang in there. They will eventually help you, I believe. Here are 5 ways to work on boosting your confidence levels:

Workout
Exercise is extremely important when it comes to how you feel about your confidence. Why? Because when you work out, it not only boosts your mood, which could help with confidence levels, but it also improves your body, betters your health, and makes you feel better about your overall appearance. Appearance has a lot to do with confidence, but feeling great also has a lot to do with confidence. If you feel great and look great, you will have great confidence levels, as well.

Fix Any Insecurities
While you cannot fix every single insecurity that ever pops up, there are definitely ways that you can fix some. For example, if you have a gap in your teeth, getting braces or invisalign is an easy fix that could definitely improve the issue that is causing your insecurities. If you have any dental insecurities, the key is to find a great dentist that cares about not only how you look, but how you feel. In the Metro-Atlanta area, that is Dr. Gary Simms with Metro Decatur Dental Group PC. Dr. Simms is known for his ability to help produce amazing results for his clients and he also has a huge passion for what he does. Dr. Simms knows the importance of changing someone’s smile, both functionally and cosmetically and he loves that he can change someone’s entire life, not just their smile. Metro Decatur Dental Group PC is a full-service dentist office that is located in Decatur, Georgia, right inside DeKalb County. They provide many services such as cleanings, fillings, dentures, root canals, bridges, whitening, and more. Dr. Simms is a dentist that you can trust with any of your needs and I highly recommend seeing him if you feel insecure with your smile!

Feel Good With What You Are Wearing
Sometimes, all it takes is an outfit change to boost your confidence. Multiple studies have shown that dressing well increases your performance and not only improves how you feel about yourself, but it also improves others’ impressions of you, as well. I truly believe that wearing clothes that makes you FEEL important and will make you feel good, as well. Sometimes, it can even make the difference between poor improvement at work and increased improvement. Also, I’m not sure if this is just me or not, but I find that I believe things about myself that others assume. So, if I am walking around in gym clothes constantly, people probably think that I don't really care. Alternatively, if I show up to an event in a gorgeous dress, maybe people might feel differently about their impression about me, which shows in how they communicate with me. This, in turn, makes me more confident.

I get it - success and status are not important, right? Caring about clothing and first impressions can definitely seem shallow, but the way we feel about ourselves is directly linked to our appearance and how others feel about ourselves. This might seem unfortunate, but it’s true. Dressing well makes us feel great. Studies show that when you wear an outfit that you associate with intelligence and power, you are likely to do better. The key to this, though, is to wear something that makes YOU feel great.

Daily Affirmations
Daily affirmations can be extremely helpful when it comes to your own self-image. “Affirmations are a powerful tool to deliberately install desired beliefs about yourself," says Nikki Carnevale. The trick to making lasting change is to change how you view yourself. Affirmations are positive and uplifting statements that we say to ourselves. These are normally more effective if said out loud so that you can hear yourself say it. We tend to believe whatever we tell ourselves constantly. For example, if you hate your own physical appearance, practice saying something that you appreciate or like about yourself when you next look in the mirror. To get your brain to accept your positive statements more quickly, phrase your affirmations as questions like, “Why am I so good in making deals?” instead of “I am so good at making deals.” Our brains are biologically wired to seek answers to questions, without analyzing whether the question is valid or not.”

Mental Health Is Important!

If you have done everything you can think of to boost your confidence, maybe it’s not something as superficial as wearing clothes that make you feel good and making sure that you look and feel fit and strong. A lot of the time, there could be an underlying issue that you need to talk about and figure out. If that is the case, I would definitely look into talking with a therapist in your area. Your mental health, along with your physical health, is extremely important to focus on and if you have done everything else, it could be time to pay attention to and improve your mental health with the help of someone else.
