Wedding Outfits You Can Wear More Than Once
Being invited to a wedding is always nice. It is great to have the chance to go shopping for an occasion wear dress, and buy something really special. These days, we rarely get the opportunity to really dress up in our day to day life. As a result, most of us enjoy shopping for a an outfit when we're going to be a wedding guest. But, there is a bit of a problem.
A nice outfit for such an occasion is not cheap. It is also hard to get much use out of your wedding guest outfit. If you are not careful you can end up spending a big chunk of your clothing budget on clothes that you only wear once, maybe twice.
Fortunately, there are ways to reduce the chances of this happening. Below are a few ideas to inspire you and help you to get more out of your occassion wear.
Accessorise to create the wow factor
The trick is to buy a dress, or suit that you could potentially wear at other times and use accessories to create the wow factor that you need for a special event. For example, a sheath dress that is made from good quality cotton is classy enough to be worn for a wedding. Yet it can just as easily be worn to the office.
For the wedding, you can wear pair it with a bright jacket, some satin shoes, a matching handbag and some statement jewellery. Adding a hat or fascinator will make your outfit look even more special.
To wear that same dress to work, all you need to do is to choose a more formal style of jacket and shoes, and tone down the jewellery, a bit. Potentially that same dress could also work for a party. Adding a belt, some fun jewellery, a nice pair of sandals and maybe a Pashmina for the evening, allows you to wear that same dress to a family party. Worn that way, it would also work really well as a holiday outfit.
Get out the sewing machine
Another way to get more use out of your occassionwear is to get out the sewing machine. Provided you know what you are doing you can radically change the way a garment looks.
For example, if you have a dress that is too sparkly to be worn to the office you could potentially swap a sequin panel for one that is made from plain fabric. If you do not have the skills to do this yourself, you could always as a crafty friend for help, or go online to watch videos like this one to learn how to do revamp your clothes.
Switch your outfit
Alternatively, you could take your outfit to a switching party, and swap it for a dress that is more suitable for everyday use. They are still popular, and it is not hard to find one near you via social media or switching sites.
If none of the above ideas appeal another option you could consider is selling your wedding outfit right after the event. This allows you to recoup a good percentage of your money back, and use it to buy new clothes that are more suitable for everyday wear.
