I have 3 beautiful daughters - the oldest just turned 15 - so while I won't claim to be an expert on conception, I can say I have some experience. The thing is, as we have watched couples around us plan {and even struggle} to get pregnant, my hubby and I have at times felt a tad bit guilty. You see, planning to get pregnant was never really a factor for us. Getting pregnant was something that just happened to us - and for that we are eternally grateful. That doesn't mean that I'm not sensitive to the difficulty that some may have with conceiving. And to a certain extent, I may be a little jealous of my friends that had the foresight to plan for their children's conception.
My first pregnancy was the biggest surprise - but I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for my daughter. Being her mother is one of my greatest privileges in life - but I won't act like my timing wasn't less than perfect. I was a teenage mother, but I made the best of my circumstances and now, thanks to a lot of effort, a good support system, and good genes, I have a remarkable young lady on my hands.
The timing of my second pregnancy left something to be desired too. We were in the midst of planning a summer wedding on the beach in Miami when we got pregnant. The wedding ended up being pushed forward and moved to Vegas and we welcomed our baby girl to world right around the same time we were originally planning to get married.

Pregnancy number three was a little different. While not planned {in the slightest}, this one occurred right at the time we had hypothetically considered the optimal time to start trying for another baby, in the case that the situation was right to start planning. We were actually quite looking forward to the prospect of being able to plan for a baby, as opposed to it being something that just happened to, I mean for, us. I wanted to try for a boy, be done with being pregnant before I was 30 {pregnancy is not my friend and I wanted my body back so I could get in shape for my 30's}, and not have two in diapers at the same time. Well, two out of 3 ain't bad - we didn't get a boy but Kenzie is the perfect addition to our little family. And bonus, I finally gave birth to a child that somewhat resembled me!
For those who don't have the gift of getting pregnant not on purpose, there are a few things that you can do to help. Making sure that you and your partner are both healthy helps. Having fun while trying also helps! It is in that vein that I share Astroglide TTC Trying to Conceive™. It's a sperm-friendly lubricant that doesn’t impede sperm motility like traditional lubricants, giving sperm a better chance at survival. Astroglide TTC™ is acutally specially formulated for couples who are trying to conceive, and supports fertility with adjusted pH levels, compatible osmolality and a consistency similar to your body’s cervical mucus. Each package contains 8 pre-filled disposable applicators that make it easy to coat the inside of the vagina, supplementing natural fluids and enhancing comfort {and also less messy because you don’t have to fill them yourself}. Astroglide TTC™ has a retail price of $12.99, the best value compared to any competitor.
