Fall/Winter Nail Trends According to Deborah Lippmann

We are currently in the throes of Fashion Week(s)- this week it's Milan, last week was London, and it was all kicked off in New York Fashion the week before that. Her backstage access and time spent working with the designers, stylists, makeup artists, and hair gurus that put the shows together {not to mention her own well-earned authority} has allowed Deborah Lippman to have her finger on the pulse of the hottest trends for Fall/Winter 2014. Here are her notes on the colors that should be graces our tips in the upcoming seasons:

First, the Nudes:

"Nudes are fantastic because they are young, fresh, and playful. Anyone can wear nude!"

Not-so-typical taupe

Clean bare beige

"To ensure a flawless finish - be sure to treat your hands. I prep my clients by hydrating cuticles with Cuticle Oil and complete every manicure with The Cure ultra-nourishing cuticle cream."

Sheer coral creamsicle

Some shows featured Two Toned nails on the models:

"I loved the elegant oval shapes and simplistic nail that was created throughout Fashion Week. Two toned nails, like the ones I created for Honor and Band of Outsiders, are (a) great way to accent bright pops of colors in your wardrobe."

A Peek-Boo-Nail was showcased on the runway at Honor. It's Raining Men, a Parisian red {not pictured}, was applied over the entire nail and offset with Break 4 Love, a collaboration with famed fashion photographer Inez van Lamsweerde.

At Band of Outsiders, the nail look was Band O' French: Naked {a clean bare beige, also used at Kate Spade} was painted all over the entire nail. Using a striping brush, the nails were then outlined with Amazing Grace.

Metallics were also a huge trend. Deborah used the Badgley Mischka show to preview a new lacquer for Fall 2014, Take The A Train, a luxe chrome color {not pictured}, which was accented with a half moon of Glitter and Be Gay

What I really love about all of these trends is that they are all very wearable and suitable for every day life - whether you're a 9 to 5 office worker or soccer mom, and everything beyond and in between. I'm definitely going to experiment with layering colors and y'all know anything glitter is my jam! I'm going to start practicing my half moon. What trends do you plan on rocking on your tips? Do you see any colors that you will be adding to your nail polish wardrobe {I know I do!}? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...
