For the dish on the makeup looks, here's some insight on all the award show beauty from Jessica Scantlin, the lead makeup artist of West Hollywood's Blushington.

Red lips have always been a timeless trend on the red carpet, but this year's Golden Globes saw a deeper take on a crimson lip. Wine lips were spotted on many actresses, including Jennifer Lawrence and Rashida Jones. "Try a bolder red lip this season. For that deep wine-red lip, first line and fill lips with a deep red lip pencil for definition. The liner base will also make your color last longer. I like Jouer Cosmetic's Lip Definer in Rouge, a riche wine-red hue. Apply a classic deep red lip stick; I like the all-time classic, The Expert Lip Color in Bloodroses by Kevyn Aucoin," says Scantlin.
Believe it or not, this is another trend that I've been playing with in real life! Once upon a time, I stuck with sheer lip glosses and opted to play up my eyes {and sort of neglected my lips in the process}, but I've fallen in love with the bold, saturated shades of this season. Recently my go to color has been Media from MAC Cosmetics, a satin finish deep brown red.

Are you a fan of the deep, red wine lip? What shades are you wearing to rock the trend? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...
