This Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, officially kicked off  Red Carpet Season in Hollywood! Not only did the gorgeous gowns and jewelry shed light on new trends, hair and makeup really stood out. From illuminated skin to to sleek hair and retro red lips, these Hollywood looks are easy to recreate for real life.

For makeup, here's some insight on all the award show beauty from Jessica Scantlin, the lead makeup artist of West Hollywood's Blushington.

Skin is definitely in! Flawless, glowing complexions were highlighted with a collection of natural make-up looks-just a touch of blush, a hint of mascara and illuminated skin.

"For this look, it's all about a clean complexion: a natural glow is the focus of attention," says Blushington's Jessica Scantlin.  "I prefer to use Stila's Perfect and Correct Foundation to even skin tone.  For additional luminescence, I add a drop of liquid highlighter, like the new Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting in Candlelight. This gives the complexion a natural radiance.  For a touch of color, apply a warm peach cream blush to the apples of the cheeks.  Try Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow in Tansoliel, for a natural flush."

I've personally been focused more on achieving the perfect complexion when applying makeup - playing with highlighting and contouring and experimenting with different foundations to find that "just right" finish. In fact, I'm working on a roundup of my favorite highlighting products that I'll be sharing soon! Until next time...
