Hue in the City Weekly Beauty Question: 3 Products You Can't Live Without!

This week's Hue in the City beauty question is: What 3 makeup items can you NOT live without and why? 

Well, my first answer should be obvious to anyone who has been reading this blog for a while {or has seen me IRL}, black eyeliner! I prefer pens (like L'Oreal Infallible Super Slim Liner and Jordana Fabuliner), but I also like potted formulas (like MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Black Waterproof Eye Shadow and MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack), and I'm starting to really dig a few pencil options I've encountered (like Rimmel Scandal'Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Liner and Milani Liquif'eye). My second and third choice are a bit more difficult to pick but here goes...

I guess number two would be some form of facial powder to even out my complexion a bit and to help with my oiliness, like Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Powder Foundation. I was just sent a compact for review and I have been totally loving it {stay tuned for a full review soon}! I can use it as a traditional foundation, as a finishing powder, or a just apply a light dusting to my bare skin to eliminate shine. I also really like Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder , though I wish they would extend the shade range a bit {the darkest shade just barely works for me, but it's really fantastic}.

Number three would have to be some sort of tinted lip balm or moisturizing gloss. I really love Burt's Bees whole line of color products and Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Lip Cooler. While I love lipstick, I have a bad habit of forgetting to reapply and I tend to inevitably make a mess with it all over my face {so not a good look}. So I prefer just a bit of color on my lips, but moisture is an absolute necessity. There are so many balm/color hybrids on the market now, so my lips are not only super happy, they're pretty too!
