Selfie with my munchkin! |
Last week was pretty much all about me staying active and keeping my sanity. I'm not complaining, every day I feel blessed to be in a position to be able to be a SAHM {and I'm truly grateful to my hubby for working as hard as he does so that this is possible for our family}, but being with the girls 24/7 may be getting to me a bit. Let's just say, I'm looking forward to school in the fall when it will be down to a 1:1 ratio during the day.
One of the ways that I've been trying to stay active is by taking regular walks with the girls. It just so happens we live quite close to a shopping center that has an Ulta, Target, Best Buy, Nordstrom Rack, and a Staples so we get exercise AND retail therapy in one fell swoop! My goal is to be able to walk to the mall (which is also really close by) and beyond before the end of summer...
My hubby bought me a FitBit to help me in my fitness goals. I love this little device and the app in my iPhone! |
It felt so good the first time I met my goal of 10000 steps, I actually feel so disappointed when I don't meet it : ( |
While these long walks are enjoyable, they are also very exhausting {we're talking quite a lot of time out in the hot Georgia sun, pushing a not-so-light jogging stroller}. So on Friday, I was super stoked over this particular bit of blogger mail...
Thymes Temple Tree Jasmine Bath Salts |
As soon as the hubby and the girls were fed and the house was returned to some semblance of order {I promise the little girls can make the place look like a tornado ran through it in under 30 minutes}, I escaped to the confines of my bathroom and took a nice long soak with this inviting concoction. Thymes Temple Tree Jasmine Bath Salts (MSRP $5, available at Thymes.com) turns your bath in to skin-conditioning waters "fragranced with the ethereal beauty of Temple Tree Jasmine. Perfect for summer, these bath salts feature a rich formula that will soothe and condition the skin." They smell SO GOOD, and I love that since it's actually a finely milled powder, it instantly dissolves into the water {unlike big chunks of salt that sometimes linger at the bottom of the tub, unmelted}and makes into a soft, milky, soothing experience. I decided to make it a full on spa night, and added this to the mix as well...
Montagne Jeunnesse Hot Chocolate Cocoa & Orange Mask {sent for the purpose of review} |
Ahhhh.... this smells like those orange shaped chocolates that come out during the holidays, heats up delightfully on contact with your skin, and leaves it feeling so soft and smooth. And did I mention it smells FANTASTIC!?! Montagne Jeunnesse has a massive variety of masks, for every sort of skin type, and retail for about $2.50. All Montagne Jeunesse products are made with natural ingredients, are paraben free, vegetarian certified and not tested on animals (which includes the raw materials they use, as well as the finished product) and can be purchased at Wal-Mart & Ulta.
Other than that moment of pure bliss in the tub {where I also watched an episode of 30 Rock, which thanks to my mom I'm obsessed with now, AND read a chapter of a new book}, my week {like pretty much the rest of my life} basically revolved around my girls. We went to Build A Bear Workshop, where Lo did not build a bear...
She picked the My Little Pony character, Pinkie Pie, and proceeded to name her Laylah Tallulah Pinkie Pie |
My little Kenziekins was less than impressed with the situation (JK). She ended up with a Merida doll from the Disney Store... |
We played outside with some new chalk from Rose Art...
I love how Peyton was really into it too! This is truly a toy for all ages! |
Now that summer has begun and the days are getting longer and warmer, this unique new product {sent to me for review} is just the thing to encourage the kids to go outside and play! Each set {we received the flower, but there's also a beach themed set, a happy sun, a monster, and skull and bones shapes} of adorable, 3D-shaped chalk contains a collectible toy hidden within the center piece {in addition to multiple pieces, making it perfect for sharing}. My girls wanted to stay outside longer than usual-they were particularly eager to find the surprise inside. At about $3 per pack, you can collect all five for more chances to find all 20 possible figurines. Surprise Inside! Sidewalk Chalk is available at Target, Wal-Mart and Kmart.
We wrapped up our weekend at the Mall of Georgia, for the Movies Under the Stars. The live band, The Rockingbirds, that played before the movie was AWESOME, and the feature, Rise of the Guardians, was really good too...
The little bits and their friend Jayden got to see their picture up on the big screen before the movie started! |
So basically, I'm exhausted! Lol. But it's a happy tired and the kind that comes from motherhood in general. We did experience some hardship this week {Kenzie broke her clavicle}, but I'd rather not dwell on the black spots, especially when the rest of the picture is so bright! How was your week? What are your plans for this week? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...
