I got my first pair of glasses when I was eight years old. At first I was super excited about them {I mean, who doesn’t like being able to see}, but the novelty of them soon wore off. By the time I was 11 or so, I was counting down the days until I’d be able to wear contact lenses {my parents told me that I had to wait until I was 13 and mature enough to take on the responsibility of maintaining them}.
