NYC New York Color Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Chocolate Apple, Applelicious Pink, and Big Apple Red |
I'm a big fan of NYC New York Color products {I've got reviews here and here} for a couple of reasons: they're easily accessible, inexpensive, and fun! I'm taking another look at the brand as of late because I think that they are a perfect introductory brand for my oldest daughter, who is just itching to begin her foray into cosmetics {not to mention that the price point is great for her to be able to experiment without breaking the bank}. I particularly enjoy their cute lip products and so I welcomed the opportunity to review the new Applelicious Glossy Lip Balms.
A certain preteen was so eager to try these out, that she swatched them before I had a chance to photograph them :/ |
APPLELICIOUS GLOSSY LIP BALM ( MSRP$2.99) - Juicy lip color straight from the Big Apple. Craving a sweet treat? Look no further than Applelicious Lip Balm from NYC New York Color, an irresistible indulgence for your pout. Featuring a conditioning “core” of moisture, the lush lip balm infuses lips with color, shine and moisture. Each applelicious shade has an apple scent, leaving lips deliciously sweet and temptingly soft.
I was actually really surprised {and Peyton was quite pleased} to see how pigmented these balms are! |
The hydrating core is formulated with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil and Avocado Oil to smooth, soften and moisturize lips {and how adorable is the apple shape?}. Not sticky or tacky, the lightweight lip balm keeps lips soft and shiny, with a beautiful sheer wash of color. And while they have no discernible flavor, they do have a light, delightful scent.
They're available in a variety of pretty shades {adorable, apple inspired names}: Apple Blossom, Apple Blueberry Pie, Apple Plum Pie, Applelicious Pink, Big Apple Red, Blushing Golden, Caramel Apple, Chocolate Apple, Garnet Gala, and Pink Lady. Though I planned on giving all three to Peyton {which is why she was so excited about this particular set of products}, after swatching them {and trying them on my lips of course}, I decided to keep Chocolate Apple for myself {don't judge me, she and I both agree that it looks way better on me than it does on her}.
What do you think of NYC New York Color products? Do you have a daughter, or young girl in your life, that is maturing to the point of being allowed to wear cosmetics? What brand did you start out with? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think! Until next time...
The middle shade looks just up my alley! I've been eyeing these but I have yet to try it, one of these days I will!
ReplyDeleteAwww...these are so cute! Love the packaging and the heart design. I also love the colors. These are perfect for my two teen daughters. I'll show this to them.
