Mani Monday: Black Diamond from NCLA's All That Glitters Isn't Gold Collection

Disclaimer: I am not a nail blogger or professional (so sometimes I color outside of the lines and my cuticles look a bit ragged). I am merely a girl who LOVES nail polish!

Black Diamond from NCLA's All That Glitters Isn't Gold Collection

If you follow me on Instagram, then you saw my disclosure regarding my lack of nail polish posts lately: basically I've been slacking off because our dishwasher is broken which means that my hands are now the dishwashers and are thus in an almost constant state of not cute. {To compensate, I've been going a bit overboard with my pedis- I recently used 7 different bottles of polish on my toes, though you will never see that, because I will NOT be supplying photographic evidence of my feet. Like ever. Cause IMO, the only cute feet are baby feet. So...} I've been trying to get swatches of NCLA's latest collection, All That Glitters Isn't Gold for well over a month now {pretty much from the moment I received them to review}, but the universe has been throwing numerous obstacles in my path {severe breaks on my swatching hand, my failure to save the original, true to color photos of the swatches {instead of just the edited/filtered copies}, and the aforementioned dishwasher situation-just to name a few}. So I've decided to do three different dedicated posts to the lovely polishes in this stellar collection; here is the second, featuring Black Diamond!

Black Diamond

From the website:

Black diamonds are a girl’s best friend. From the French Riviera to the shores of California, this unique diamond inspired large flake glitter will stick with your nails through thick and thin. A Hollywood legend in the making.

This is how I describe it {please keep in mind that I am merely an enthusiastic novice when it comes to nail polish, so I may not utilize the proper descriptive vernacular}: copious amounts of black and silver hex shaped glitter in a clear jelly base. I used two coats on top of black and white bases to try to properly display the uniqueness of the glitter. Black Diamond shows better on the white than the black {obvi the black specks get lost on the black base}.  For some reason, I have visions of using this on top of various shades of pink {from pastel to neon} and I think it will look spectacular layered on top of full coverage glitters and metallics. I found it fairly easy to work with, the glitter is plentiful and the base makes it easy to place the glitter exactly where you want it.

NCLA polishes retail for $16 and are available at shopncla.com. Each nail lacquer is 100% free of DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Camphor and never tested on animals. Stay tuned for next weeks Mani Monday, where I'll show off another shade in the collection, Glitter Riot! Until next time...
