When Washing Your Face is a Bonding Experience AKA: Mother Daughter Time with Biore

I'm raising a house full of girls which is super fun (because I get to dress them up and do their hair and be a girly girl with them) but it's also a huge responsibility. I have to teach them what it is to be a lady and all the in and outs of maintaining said ladyshipness (this is now a word, according to me). And while teaching certain hygienic habits starts early (4 year old Lo knows that we don't go to bed without brushing our teeth and washing our face), as my daughters get older, I have to adjust the training to fit their needs.

My eldest daughter, Pey, is a 12 year old and already has a very good routine as far as her hygiene. But as she matures, her hormones are changing and so is her skin.So we've gotten to the point where it is time to bump up her facial skin care routine. While I can justify using higher end skin care products for myself, considering the fact that at some point in the future we will need to supply products for 4 females, now is the time to be looking at things in a more frugal manner. That's why I'm so glad for a brand like Biore.  Not only are the products a far more affordable and accessible option, there is such a vast array to choose from-so you can find products that meet the needs of more mature skin and those just beginning their skin care journey.

I use the products shown on the left and Pey uses the ones on the right.

Taking care of your skin is important, but it doesn't have to be expensive and a good routine should start early. Biore is a unique brand because it is affordable and addresses the needs of women in a wide age range (ie-my daughter and I). Within the line of products, I use the Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser and the 4 in 1 Detoxifying Cleanser , and Pey uses the Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser and the Pore Unclogging Scrub. Here are some more details on each of the products in our regimens...

BiorĂ©® Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser provides an even clean by addressing the complex needs of combination skin. The formula purifies without depleting or stripping skin of moisture, improving skin condition over time with continued daily use. After just one use, the cleanser delivers an all-over clean, lifting oil from the T-Zone while thoroughly cleansing dry areas. After two weeks of use, combination areas are more balanced. ( I use this cleanser in the morning. It is perfect for everyday and a great way to prep the skin for makeup application.)

4-in-1 Detoxifying Cleanser: This multi-tasking face wash that cuts your routine down to one step, gently removes dirt, oil and makeup from skin without over-drying or stripping skin of its natural oils. The formula cleanses, tones, stimulates and detoxifies to help restore a healthy glow.(I love to use this in the shower before bed, it is so convenient because I don't have to use an additional makeup remover or toner!)

Pore Unclogging Scrub: This creamy pearlized formula is designed to lift away pore-clogging dirt and oil. The cleanser contains spherical exfoliating microbeads that gently remove dull, lifeless surface cells without damaging skin and Salicylic acid to help prevent blackheads and breakouts from forming. (Pey uses this in the evenings, every other day to treat and prevent white and black heads, especially in her T zone.)

Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser: is formulated to cool skin on contact while whisking away over 99% of dirt and oil to clear the complexion. The cleanser delivers a potent combination of acne fighters and soothing botanicals. (She LOVES the refreshing cooling sensation. She says it's a great way to help perk up in the mornings when she's getting ready for school).

The Daily Cleansing Cloths are ultra-convenient, pre-moistened wipes infused with grapefruit and pomegranate. Each cloth is double-sided, with a textured side for mild exfoliation and a smooth side to wipe skin clean. As much as I would love to keep these to myself (I love a good cleansing cloth), I gave these to Pey
to keep in her backpack or locker so that she can refresh her skin and unclog pores after PE. And once a week, we both use the
Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. We're able to enjoy a bot of mother-daughter bonding time, while these hard-working, pore strips lift out stubborn dirt, oil and makeup in just one use for a fresh complexion. Formulated with a patented system that cleans out deep-down dirt, the custom-fit strips are longer than the original strip and are twice as effective as the leading pore cleanser at getting rid of pore-clogging buildup that can cause blackheads. (And I love the limited edition, back to school packaging! The tin is reusable, so when we run out of strips, I just refill the tin. You could also use it for bandages or cotton swabs, etc.)

Do you remember when your skin began to change and you had to adjust your skin care routine (I vividly remember when I started to break out on my forehead and I got my first jar of Noxzema)? Do you have any special memories of your mom training you in the ways of womanhood as you were growing up? Have you tried any of the Biore products mentioned above? My inquiring mind wants to know! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Until next time...
