Hydratherma Naturals AKA: A Curly Girl Chronicle

There is one more product that I received to review from NaturallyCurly.com and Hydratherma Naturals, but this is the series of products I used initially. The review on the last product, the Moisture Boosting Deep Conditioning Treatment, will be covered in a later CGC. 

Hydratherma Naturals SLS Free Moisture Plus Hair Cleanser (MSRP $ 18.99)

Product Description: This specially formulated - ultra smooth moisturizing cleanser is ideal for damaged, dry and brittle hair. Blended with 11 botanical extracts for gentle and complete cleansing of the hair and scalp. Keeps the hair soft, flexible and shiny while restoring elasticity. After each application your hair will be full of body, soft and very easy to manage. Compatible with all Brazilian Keratin Treatments. The product is  PH balanced and contains no silicones.

My Take: Oh. My. Goodness!!! My hair was immediately transformed after using this! Like, as soon as I rinsed it out of my hair, it was softer, smoother and just felt better/healthier. It was amazing! And the smell is divine too-sort of fresh and citrusy. The formula is thick and creamy, and even without the lather (no sulfates here) my hair felt nice and clean. I will definitely be using the entire bottle and repurchasing.

Hydratherma Naturals Amino Plus Protein Deep Conditioning Treatment (MSRP $15.99)

My Take: I loved this conditioner! From it's thick, creamy texture, to it's cocoa-vanilla scent. It made it super easy to finger detangle my hair and even after rinsing it out, my hair felt silky and smooth. It was like pampering my tresses. And my curls were gorgeous (even 3 days later).

Hydratherma Naturals Protein Balance Leave-In Conditioner (MSRP $14.99)

Product Description: It is extremely important to maintain a moisture / protein balance in the hair. This penetrating leave-in conditioner provides your hair with a balance of moisture and protein to prevent breakage and strengthen the hair. Detangles, increases flexibility, smoothes and protects the hair from heat damage during styling. Contains multiple ceramide natural oils that create a protective barrier around each hair strand to hold in moisture and protein. Also contains glycerin and silk amino protein providing a great moisture / protein balance. Does not weigh the hair down. Light and gentle enough to be used daily. Product is pH balanced, paraben free, adds moisture, has no silicones, and acts as a  humectant.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Coconut Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Olive Oil, Emulsifier, Silk Amino Acids, Fragrance, Germall Plus (Paraben Free Preservative), Jojoba Oil. It is silicone free, sulfate free, paraben free, and protein rich.

My Take:  This smells absolutely divine! Like a sweet, cocoa-vanilla confectionery. AND it works fantastically well. It's consistency is not too thick and not too thin, coats the hair wonderfully and leaves it oh so soft and shiny. It's definitely one of the best leave in conditioners I've tried!

Hydratherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion (MSRP $18.99)

Product Description: This daily moisturizing lotion is excellent for chemically treated or natural hair. CONTAINS 5 NATURAL BUTTERS AND 8 NATURAL OILS....ALONG WITH GLYCERIN!!!! You can't beat the moisture in this product! There is nothing like it! Now contains more Emu Oil per bottle! Use after deep conditioning on wet hair and daily to soften and condition the hair while restoring a nourishing balance of moisture in the hair. Created with an exclusive blend of natural ingredients such as shea butter, olive butter, aloe butter, sweet almond butter, avocado butter, olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, peanut oil, macadamia nut oil, safflower oil and glycerin. Product is silicone free, sulfate free, and paraben free.

My Take:  You know how sometimes a package will say "a little goes a long way?" Usually I ignore that and slather my hair as usual, but with this gem it's really true-a little does go a long way! It has the same delicious vanilla/cocoa scent as the protein deep conditioner and the rich abundance of butters on the ingredients list is immediately and gloriously evident as soon as you emulsify the lotion in your hands. I can't attest to the "hair growth" part (yet), but regardless, I will continue to use it because it made my hair look awesome! Gave my curls beautiful definition and shine without making them heavy, sticky, or crunchy. This is a new HG product for me!

Hydratherma Naturals Hair Growth Oil (MSRP $18.99)

Product Description: This multi-purpose hair oil is excellent for chemically treated and natural hair. Contains a unique blend of NATURAL OILS used to soften the hair, give hair a healthy shine and seal in moisture after the use of the Hydratherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion. Now contains more Emu Oil per bottle! Repairs and prevents dry itchy scalp and prevents breakage. Only a small amount is needed. Great to use with scalp massages and can be used on the body also. You will just love it! Smells yummy but please do not ingest. For best results, use with other Hydratherma Naturals brand products. PH balanced. 

Ingredients:  Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Peanut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Vitamin E, Macadamia Nut Oil, Emu Oil, Fragrance, Kukui Oil. Product is silicone free, sulfate free, paraben free, protein free, and glycerin free.

My Take: I'm a huge fan of oils, so I was very excited to try this out! I can't attest to its ability to aid in hair growth, but it works excellently as a sealer. The only *slight* drawback is the aroma. It's not bad and since I'm familiar with emu oil, I know that that's exactly what the smell is. It's not bad, it's kind of earthy and fatty. But emu oil is EXCELLENT for the skin and hair so the scent (or lack of scent, really) is a small price to pay for this product. It's definitely a must have for anyone obsessed with oil...like me!
