Fab Five Friday: Fragrance Edition

(Couldn't figure out an AKA for this one, but I will say that this will probably end up being a regular feature. Y'all know I love an awesome alliterative title!)

I so wish I could be the type of girl that had a signature fragrance, but I love them too much! I choose my fragrances based upon numerous factors: my mood, the occasion, my outfit, and even the weather. So of course I make some adjustments when fall and winter come around! When the leaves change and the temperature cools, I find that I'm more drawn to warmer, heavier scents. These are just a few of the ones that are in heavy rotation for me right now.

As a bonafide LUSHie, I have to include Vanillary. It was inspired by the Vanilla Fountain bath bomb which has been an instant hit since it first appeared on LUSH's shelves. The vanilla scent is warm and comforting, and rich. It's made from vanilla pods, sandalwood, jasmine, and delicious burnt caramel. They come together to create a scent that is complex, unique, and utterly scrumptious.

These are a bit on the pricier side, but oh how they epitomize the mood that fall invokes for me. Krigler Splendid Gold 211 is invigorating and unique, this fragrance embodies the opulence and elegance of gold. Krigler Oud Azur 75212 was formulated to transport you to "the pristine waters and verdant landscape of the French Riviera, while also evoking the exotic enchantment of the Orient." It's a truly global scent, with Indian ginger and white pepper from Sumatra, musk and Australian amber. One of the more special ingredients is oud from South East Asia- it's derived from the wood of the tropical Agar tree. When the wood of the tree gets infected with a very particular form of mold, it reacts by producing a precious, dark and fragrant resin-the perfume ingredient oud. It is highly valued by perfumers for its sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent. Due to its rarity, high demand, and the difficulty of harvesting it, oud oil is one of  the most expensive oils in the world. Its value is estimated as 1.5 times of the value of gold, and it is sometimes referred to as 'liquid gold' (which probably explains why 1.7 oz bottle is $235).

We all know I'm a sucker for limited edition anything, and I've been a fan of the Michael Kors fragrance collection since its inception. So of course I'm smitten with Michael Kors Gold Rose Edition. Dressed up with a lush modern floral bouquet perfectly wrapped in sheer hues of pink softness- it includes notes of pink pepper, michelia, water lily, tuberose, sandalwood, raspberry, musks, gardenia, rose centifolia, cashmere woods, and peony. I could swim in a pool of this yumminess.

And my current absolute fave, can't get enough of it, it almost makes me want to wear it everyday, almost...

Viva la Juicy La Fleur took me by utter surprise. I love the original and was shocked at how much I LOVE this incarnation of it. It is so good, I can't think of words to describe it, so here's what the website had to say: "Viva la Juicy La Fleur is a sheer veil of sparkling mandarin and wild berries, combined with luminous florals of lush honeysuckle, gardenia petals, and soft jasmine. A whisper of creamy gourmand reminiscent of the Classic Viva la Juicy elicits an addiction that envelops the skin."  This is the ONE fragrance that makes me think about becoming a one fragrance woman (yes, it is that good).

So do you change fragrance for the seasons? Are you a signature fragrance kind of gal? My inquiring mind wants to know what you're wearing and loving right now! Leave a comment below and let me know. Until next time...
